• IMPORTANT: Before installing the Sony Notebook Utilities, please note the following:
• If you have performed a clean install of the Microsoft® Windows Vista® operating system (i.e., installed from a commercial, off-the-shelf, version rather than using the Recovery Wizard or Recovery Media Kit), please ensure that all original device drivers from the Sony support site have been installed on the computer before installing the Sony Notebook Utilities.
• It is not necessary to revert to the original drivers if you have properly installed updates from the Sony support site.
• If you have performed a clean install of the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, install the Sony Shared Library. A link to the Sony Shared Library is available in the You May Need This section above.
• Use Windows Update to make sure you have installed all available Windows Vista updates including Windows Vista SP1 (Service Pack 1).
• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended that you print out these instructions for use as a reference during the installation process.

Download and Installation Instructions

Download the SOAOTH-49000000-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).

Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOAOTH-49000000-US.EXE file to begin the installation.

At the User Account Control screen, click Continue.

At the Sony Notebook Utilities window, click Next.

At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click I Agree to continue with the installation.

At the pop-up screen, click OK to restart the computer.
Note: A restart is required during the installation. The installation automatically continues after the computer restarts, please follow the on-screen instructions.

At the Sony Notebook Utilities window, click Next.

At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click I Agree to continue with the installation.

At the Finish screen, click Finish.

At the pop-up screen, click OK to restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony® Notebook Utilities is complete.
